The weekend is here!

TGIF! I love a four-day week, don’t you? This weekend, I’m happily planning to relax and enjoy the start of autumn in New York. Right now, I’m in the midst of reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. The pressure is on to finish it before the film comes out this month! What about you — what are your weekend plans? The photo above is a teaser for Monday’s post about my California vacay. In the mean time, here are a few fun reads from around the Web to get your weekend started right:

See and be seen during fashion week.

A side table that’s perfect for apartment-sized living!

Gorgeous (and lacey!) head pieces for fall.

Blue boots!

A Shopping palette for a garden wedding.

New and colorful patterns to brighten up your home!

Homemade orange soda!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt sings Lady Gaga.

Words of wisdom for the weekend.

Shoes with bows

I don’t know about you, but one of the fall trends I’m loving most is shoes with bows. They’re delicate and feminine, and yet still, very bold. Walk into a room and all eyes are on you — especially if they’re red, like the Valentino pumps pictured above. The coolest part is that this high fashion trend is one you can do yourself. Just follow step-by-step instructions from sites like Style Caster or PS I Made This. Or discover a shoe trend that suits your taste. Here, Time Out New York picks out the top 100 best fall shoes for the ladies!

Showtime house

Last night, I went to the kick off reception for the 2010 Showtime House, held at Cassa Hotel and Residences in New York. What a fantastic night checking out rooms inspired by all of the network’s hit series. The photos above feature rooms inspired by Laura Linney’s new Showtime drama, The Big C. Boston-based architect Stephen Chung designed the bedroom, along with Matthias Altwicker. The books on the shelf are interactive — open the cover and engage with other people reading the book at the same time as you!
You guessed it — these two shots are inspired by Weeds. Designers John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon of John Loecke Inc. went to Stray Dog for the papier mache plants pictured above. Don’t you just love how colorful they are?

I love the X-Rays lining the hallway in the Nurse Jackie suite designed by Laura Bohn and Katie Lydon. And the bedside I.V. bags? So creative!

The shot above is of the gaming room, inspired by Dexter and designed by Jeff Andrews and Gregory Okshteyn. Kind of makes you think twice about sitting there, right? Visit the rooms above and many more! Starting this Saturday, the Showtime House opens to the public on Saturdays only through October 23. Ticket proceeds (only $15 per person) directly benefit the Harlem Children’s Zone.
