Seeing a movie alone

Quick poll: do you ever go to the movies alone? This past weekend, I saw Magic Mike…by myself. Truthfully, it wasn’t my first time: going to the movies alone is something I enjoy doing a lot. It’s like treating yourself to date night ā€” you pick the movie, the seats, and decide whether you’ll spring for the popcorn and soda, too!

Don’t get me wrong ā€” I love seeing movies with good friends, but there’s something magical about going alone. Remember Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City; Peggy Olsen in Mad Men? It’s a moment you can have all to yourself ā€” no pressure ā€” just you and the big screen. And in my case this past weekend, Channing Tatum, too. šŸ™‚

I’ve only gone to the movies once by myself, to see Bewitched. It was the day before the bar exam, and I needed to just clear my mind with something silly. Plus a friend of mine was in the movie!

Well, if a friend of yours is in the movie, that is definitely a reason to go, alone or with company!

What did you think of Bewitched? I liked it, especially the cast!

It’s tough to go alone, but I think it’s sort of an adventure, too. šŸ™‚
