Bringing plants indoors

A quick Brooklyn update: I’m starting to feel super settled in my new apartment. Yay! Now, I can focus a bit more on decorating, and adding the little touches that make every place feel like home. One detail I’m excited to add: House plants. Do you have any in your home? Our apartment gets a lot of natural light (which I love), but I want to pick plants that can endure that much sun. I’m thinking a dracaena would be a nice starter plant, but I’m only at the beginning of my research.

Do you have any tips? Here’s a great list of recommendations from A Cup of Jo.

Mila Kunis, unscripted

Have you seen this hilarious interview with Mila Kunis and Chris Stark? He’s a British radio reporter who was assigned to talk to Mila about her latest movie, Oz the Great and Powerful. The only problem? He was nervous. After going way off-script, he ends up revealing a softer—and more playful—side of the actress. As if we didn’t already love her enough! Anyways, it’s six(ish) minutes long, but definitely worth a watch.

Will you see Mila’s new film? I think it looks really good!

The perfect spring coat

Remember the gorgeous hot pink coat from Kate Spade that Zooey Deschanel wore on New Girl at the end of last season? It’s so eye-catching! Much to my delight, Ann Taylor‘s spring collection includes a very similar style: The Afternoon Topper in lush hibiscus (aka hot pink).
Would you wear a spring coat that’s this bright? I think it’s a fun and easy way to add a pop of color into your day. This coming from a girl who recently invested in a red winter coat. 🙂

March Page: A toast!

My dearest readers, what are you most looking forward to this March? For me, I love daylight savings—there’s nothing better than leaving work when it’s still light out. I also love the transitional feeling of March. Warmer temps start to arrive, Admission hits theaters, tulips (my favorite flower) start to bloom, and there’s St. Patrick’s Day, too! On a separate note, March is an extra special month for me: My sister is coming to visit from the west coast. Yay!

How do you feel about March? Any fun plans you’re looking forward to?

The weekend is here!

Happy Friday, my darling readers. Today is a big day—it’s my five year anniversary of living in New York. Whoa, how do 1-2-3-4-5 years go by? When I first moved here from Boston, I promised myself one thing: Just make it through one year. After that, all bets are off. Now, it’s hard for me to imagine living anywhere else. So, a toast to the last five years. For me, there’s no bigger milestone than this. 🙂
On that note, wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:
