Snow for sale in Boston

Screen Shot 2015-03-15 at 8.04.44 PM

Since I haven’t been to Massachusetts since Christmas, I have only heard about the massive amounts of snow that’s in the area, the result of back-to-back storms. Over the weekend, I had a chance to see the snowfall up close—an amount my mom assured me is “half of what it was” when the storms first hit. I couldn’t believe it! Especially since NYC is almost completely snow-free.

My mom even texted me when I was packing for the weekend: “Pack your puffer! And your snowboots. We still have a lot of snow.”

Did I listen? As you can see, thanks to the photo above, I did not. Oops.

Even more hilarious: This guy who decided to cash in on the historic levels of snowfall the Boston area received this winter by selling snow by the pound.

To my Boston friends: Spring is just four days away! Fingers crossed all that snow melts soon.

How was your weekend?

Brooklyn Bridge Park detour

On Saturday, while running errands, I took a long look down Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights and noticed the sun was just beginning to set. My arms were weighed down with bags of groceries (plus, this cute shirt I snagged at the Loft), but I thought: What’s a one-block detour? I’ve got time!

I’m so glad I did: What gorgeous afternoon light! Daylight savings, you’re alright by me.

How was your weekend?

PS: Take a look at the actual sunset!

Kate Middleton in florals

Leave it to Kate Middleton to get spring florals right—I love her take on this stunning dress, perfectly styled with a tailored cornflower blue coat.

Duchess-3

This look—worn to the Emma Bridgewater Pottery Factory in England—plus, this stunning Erdem number that she wore last week to the Goring Hotel’s 150th anniversary celebration have me day dreaming about spring. It’s actually only 10 days away! Spring dresses have to be one of my favorite things to shop for (I’m eyeing this one, this one, and this one). Now, thanks to Kate, florals are at the top of my list!

Have you done any spring shopping yet? What have you bought?

On ‘Togetherness’

togetherness-tv-review-hbo

In case you haven’t been watching, you need to catch up on Togetherness, the new HBO show written by the Duplass Brothers and starring Mark Duplass, Amanda Peet, Melanie Lynskey and Steve Zissis. The season finale was on last night, so if you haven’t started, you’re in the perfect position to binge watch! (I’m jealous.)

The show focuses on four people in their mid-30s who are working to reconcile their hopes and dreams with the current state of their personal and professional lives. At times, Togetherness is sweet and endearing; other times it’s crushingly realistic. I love it!

Truth be told, I was hooked on the show from the start, but a recent episode sealed the deal. With childcare arranged for the day, Brett and Michelle (played by Mark Duplass and Melanie Lynskey) organize their friends for what turns into a competitive game of Kick the Can.

Without sharing any spoilers, this episode brought me straight back to my childhood, where I spent summers in Maine (and Massachusetts) playing epic rounds of Kick the Can with my cousins. That game is intense! It also requires strategy and, well, togetherness to triumph. It’s a great analogy for the show—and clearly, it means the Duplass brothers grew up on the same game. Good people!

Is anyone else watching? If you are, let’s discuss!
