Steve’s Ice Cream

Maybe it’s because my dad’s name is Steve and I’m from Massachusetts, but I’m pretty eager to check out Steve’s Ice Cream, now open in two locations in New York. Originally founded in Somerville, Massachusetts in 1973, Steve’s was the first place to custom blend ice cream flavors by hand, mixing in candies, cookies, fruits and nuts. The original shop closed in the mid-90s, but former scooper David Stein is bringing the ice cream back —  this time to New York. With flavors like Blackberry Honey and Mexican Chili Chocolate, who could resist?

The weekend is here!

Happy weekend dear readers! This week flew by. What do you have planned for your Saturday-Sunday off? My big plan is to finally see this film. It looks so sweet, right? Out of all the movies you’ve seen this summer, what has been your favorite? I would love recommendations to add to my list. Here, to get your weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

An engagement story.

This bike is mine.

Wowza, the world’s steepest roller coaster

Chocolate chip cookies.

A summer picnic

Weekend in New York.

Words to live by (more here!).

Hello, Marlow.

Gorgeous prints for the kitchen.

Ready for Madewell Fall!

A day at the beach (watch the video!).

Friday nostalgia (+ another video to enjoy!).

Princess Diana’s wedding dress

For those of you that live state-side and can’t cross the pond to see Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress on display, there’s another way to get your Royal Wedding fix. Starting in September and running through mid-January, Foxwoods will host the traveling exhibition, “Diana: A Celebration.” The pièce de résistance on display? Diana’s stunning gown — designed by Elizabeth Emanuel — from the day she wed Charles in 1981. As a long-time fan of the Royals, a trip to see this exhibit is definitely on my to-do list for fall. How about you? Will you be traveling to see Diana (or Kate’s!) dress?
