My vote for best dressed

Jennifer-Aniston-Picking-Up-Emma-Stone-Oscars-2015Did you watch the Oscars last night? There were so many sweet and inspiring and moving moments during the show. If I had to pick a winner for best dressed, my vote goes to Jennifer Aniston, hands-down. She looked absolutely stunning in this sparkly Versace number.

What were your favorite parts of the Oscars last night?

The Girl on the Train

I just ordered this book online and can’t wait to start reading it. I’ve been seeing it pop up on so many of my friends Instagram feeds—and they all give the same one-word review: Riveting.

What are you currently reading? Any good books to recommend? I mentioned some winter reads recently if you need any ideas. I have so many books on my nightstand right now. Need to catch up!

Silver heels

Most mornings, when I get dressed for work, I alternate between the same two shoe colors: black or camel. They’re both neutrals that I know will work with most everything I own: skirts, flowy dresses, jeans. It’s a quick and easy decision, which saves me time so that I can make my lunch, collect my things, bundle up and get out the door. But for spring, I’ve discovered a new neutral: silver heels!

There’s something so pretty and fancy about a matte metallic. Plus, I love that it still matches just about everything in my closet—and it’s versatile. It looks feminine with a dress and polished with a pair of white jeans.

I’ve been eyeing this affordable pair this week. What do you think? Would you try this trend?

Jane the Virgin

Have you been watching Jane the Virgin on the CW? It is so great! And funny! And addictive! The show reminds me a lot of Ugly Betty (one of my all-time favorite shows), mostly due to the fact that the storytelling format mimics the twists and turns of a spicy and drama-filled telenovela.

Here’s the plot: Jane made a promise to her grandmother that she would remain a virgin until marriage. She’s engaged to a great guy named Michael, who respects her wishes, when, at a regular appointment with her gyno, she is accidentally artificially inseminated with her boss’s child (he also happens to be a hot hotelier). Dun dun dun! I’m not even ashamed to admit that I crushed almost 10 episodes of the show over the long weekend. (Hey! It was too cold to go out anyway.) 😉

Matt made so much fun of me when I was watching because with each shocking plot twist, I would gasp out loud. I can’t help it! I feel so deeply invested in the show and it’s characters. (Plus, there’s a reason actress Gina Rodriguez, who plays Jane, won a Golden Globe for her role.)

Anyways, you have to watch. Any new TV shows you’re loving right now? Do tell!

PS: An interesting comparison between Jane and Betty.
