A Wes Anderson-inspired wedding

As far as wedding themes go, this one takes the cake: Jaime and Melinda—both huge fans of Wes Anderson—turned their California wedding into an homage to the talented director’s best work. I love it! From the colorful cake to the party favors and photo booth backdrop, it perfectly captures the whimsy of Wes. You can find many more photos here.

Are you a Wes Anderson fan? I loved Moonrise Kingdom!

Blue Jasmine

Have you seen the trailer for Woody Allen’s next film, Blue Jasmine? It looks good—and definitely seems a bit heavier than his most recent work. Set in San Francisco, the cast includes Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Sally Hawkins (from Happy Go Lucky) and one of my favorite actors: Bobby Cannavale. I’m looking forward to watching it when it hits theaters this July.

How about you? Will you watch this film?

The weekend is here!

My lovely readers, happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend? I hope something relaxing and fun. I’m excited to finally be getting a haircut. I am so long overdue. The delay is because I never can decide if I want a bob, or if I want to grow my hair out. Then, the NYC heat arrives and my decision is easy: short! 🙂 I’ll try to Instagram some pics from the salon. In the meantime, wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

Hamptons hideaway.

A Royal writer.

How to piss off a New Yorker in 36 seconds.

Colorful bathtubs.

Pantone photography.

How to run a blog out of your car.

The perfect lemon tart.

The ultimate coffee setup.

Dinosaur love.

Exciting news!

Book Page: Sad Desk Salad

Thanks to a book recommendation from my friend Marnie, I just finished reading Sad Desk Salad by Jessica Grose, a former blogger for Jezebel. Have you read it? It’s hilarious—and chick lit at its best. Not only is it a great (and quick!) summer read, it’s a window into the juicy world of gossip blogging and all the drama that comes with it.

My favorite part has to do with the title—how many of us spend our lunch breaks eating variations of a “sad desk salad”? I’m taking this book as my personal call to action to get outside during my lunch break more often this summer. You should, too! 🙂

A recipe for a not-so-sad desk salad.

The book I’m reading next!
