The weekend is here!

Happy weekend dear readers! Friday is always the loveliest day. šŸ™‚ What do you have planned for the weekend? I’m excited to catch a performance by Overboard, a Boston-based all-male cappella group that has a show in New York tonight. Going forward, I’ll be featuring monthly interviews with different a cappella groups, and Overboard will be the first! Stay tuned for more details in the next couple of weeks ā€” and if you know of a group that is worth checking out, definitely let me know.

On a separate note, today is my best friend’s one-year wedding anniversary so I wanted to post the pic above from her and her husband’s special day last year. It’s amazing how quickly a year goes by! Here, to get your weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

More snail mail please!

Because I love ping-pong.

Say ‘I do’ to Kate Spade.

A gorgeous coat for spring.

Color the world!

Fashion inspiration. And a collection I adore.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: don’t miss this film!

An artistic approach to candles.

The perfect bag for the gym.

J’adore Liza.

What a cute hat!

The next Woody Allen film I can’t wait to see.

If I could eat lunch in Paris…

I’d definitely dine here! The place is called La Petite Cuisine a Paris, which directly translated means The Little Paris Kitchen. Owned and operated by trained pastry chef Rachel Khoo out of her own home, this cozy idea for a restaurant came to be when Rachel needed a place to test recipes for an upcoming book. The subject? Modernizing traditional French recipes, of course, the perfect subject for someone with such a unique culinary approach.

It’s not easy to score a reservation for lunch in Rachel’s kitchen, but if you do, expect a tasty and intimate meal. Her apartment is just 226 square feet in size, allowing enough room for three people at the table, including the chef herself! This is definitely a dining experience I’d love to try. Would you enjoy a meal like this? Have you ever eaten at a restaurant this size?

Arrested Development

Thanks to recommendations from a few different friends, I finally started watching the first season of Arrested Development. Late to the party? Yes. But that’s what Netflix is for, right? šŸ™‚ I’m already addicted to the show, and I’m only 5 episodes in. So far, Will Arnett’s character is my favorite, although Jason Bateman’s Michael Bluth is very close behind. Are you a fan of the show? Which episode do you love the most?

My New York Apartment

Leave it to New York magazine to chronicle some of the more famous cinematic projections of a typical New York City apartment. From the family home (The Cosby Show) to the fantasy (Sex and the City), this list covers it all. My favorite has to be Monica and Rachel’s bachelorette pad on Friends. Why can’t all New York City apartments be exactly like that? šŸ™‚

I will say that I’ve grown to love the Upper East Side apartment that I call home. Sure, the view from my bedroom window includes a red brick wall, and my oh-so-cozy kitchen came without counter space, but for me, it still works. What about you ā€” what’s your most memorable New York City apartment? Did it match the New York fantasy you’d always had in mind?
